Musicians to Bring Their Songs, Environmental Cause to UT

Mountaintop removal coal mining impacting Appalachia is the focus of the album “Dear Companion” by collaborating recording artists Ben Sollee and Daniel Martin Moore. The duo will perform at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27, at the Clarence Brown Theatre at UT Knoxville.

Nai-Ni Chen to Infuse UT with Chinese Culture, Dance

Traditional and modern Chinese dance performers, the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company will create a theatrical feast for the public at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 19, at the Clarence Brown Theatre at the UT Knoxville.

Israeli Musical Sensation Idan Raichel Project to Visit UT Knoxville Nov. 9

Israeli musician Idan Raichel will bring with him a host of international performers when he visits the UT Knoxville campus Monday, Nov. 9, as part of the 2009-2010 Cultural Attractions Series. The Idan Raichel Project will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the Cox Auditorium of the Alumni Memorial Building. Tickets are $5 for students, $20 for faculty and staff and $25 for the public.

UT Knoxville Presents Bela Fleck in New Trio

The world’s premier banjo player, Béla Fleck, returns to Knoxville this week in a new trio as part of the 2009-2010 Cultural Attractions Series hosted by the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Fleck joins with tabla player Zakir Hussain and double-bass master Edgar Meyer.
