A noted educational researcher, an accomplished business leader, and a pioneering historian will be honored in this year’s African American Trailblazer Series.
For his contributions as a computer scientist, an inventor, and someone who helped shape the modern world, Mark Dean is being honored as the Trailblazer Series speaker for February. He’ll speak about his life and career at 12:30 p.m. on February 26 in the auditorium of the John C. Hodges Library.
The UT Commission for Blacks seeks to bridge the gap between UT’s African American community and the city of Knoxville and is hosting a discussion panel, “Engaging your City: Retention of African Americans in Knoxville.” The public is invited and lunch will be provided on a first come, first served basis. The panel is at noon on Tuesday, November 12, in the College of Law, Room 135, and will feature Mayor Madeline Rogero and others.
