Two UT faculty members have received a $49,557 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services to look at the role rural public libraries play in the economic development of the Appalachian region.
The Center for Information and Communication Studies has received funding for projects to support rural librarians and increase the number of Hispanic library science faculty members. The grants were announced by the Institute of Museum and Library Services as two of the thirty-two Laura Bush 21st Century Librarian grants totaling $10.3 million.
