Veterans Reunion and Campus Parade Highlight Homecoming Festivities

A veterans reunion, the annual campus parade, and a commemoration of the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act are among the events highlighting this year’s Homecoming celebrations. Homecoming events begin Sunday and culminate on Saturday, November 3, when the football Vols take on Troy in Neyland Stadium. Kickoff is at noon.

Alumni Association Helps Alumni Find Jobs with Networking Tools

With the employment rate not expected to rebound anytime soon, UT’s Alumni Association is making it easier for alumni to use their alma mater as a launch pad toward a new job. UTAA will unveil new tools in January to make it easier for more than 325,000 UT alumni to network with one another.

Each year, the UT Alumni Association funds awards that recognize excellence in the classroom. The Outstanding Teacher Award is part of the association’s continuing effort to encourage resourceful and creative instruction and to publicly recognize exceptional teaching, especially the teaching of undergraduates.

Who was your favorite UT professor? The Office of Alumni Affairs invites you to nominate him or her for the 2011 Alumni Outstanding Teacher Award. ‘All In the Family’ Tailgate to Feature Coaches, Chancellors and More

Students, faculty and staff at UT Knoxville often collaborate with other UT system institutions, but it’s not every day that two of the system’s athletics teams meet on the field. In this season’s opening football game, the Volunteers will take on the UT Martin Skyhawks. Interim President Jan Simek along with the Knoxville and Martin campus alumni associations will host an event for fans from 3 – 5 p.m. in Circle Park.
