The Center for International Education awarded 124 undergraduate students Study Abroad Undergraduate scholarships totaling $152,500 for the spring 2017 semester and spring break study abroad programs. 50 Years Later The Rock Serves as Centerpiece of Expression

For 50 years, the Rock—a 97.5-ton hunk of Knox dolomite stone—has served as an iconic campus symbol. Most every day, and sometimes multiple times a day, individuals and groups paint the surface of the Rock, which sits at the corner of Volunteer Boulevard and Pat Head Summitt Street, to express opinions, offer congratulations, and share other messages. These messages are seen by thousands each day who come to campus for classes or to visit.


‘Rocky Top’ Heard Across Tennessee in New UT Commercial

The state of Tennessee has a long history of great music and songs—including one of the most recognizable songs in the nation, “Rocky Top.” In UT’s new television half-time spot, Volunteers from across the state sing, hum, and whistle one of our most beloved musical traditions. The new 30-second spot will make its debut on national television Thursday on the SEC Network during UT’s home opening against Appalachian State. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
