Symposium to Focus on Success of Transfer Students

The campus community is invited to attend the inaugural Transfer Symposium, designed to provide campus units and academic departments with information about UT’s transfer students, on Tuesday, October 11, in the Panhellenic Building.

Clarification on Gender-Neutral Pronouns

We would like to offer clarification on statements referring to gender-neutral language. There is no mandate or official policy to use gender-neutral pronouns. We do not dictate speech. Most people prefer to use the pronouns he and she. However, some don’t.

Faculty Pub to be Held at Tyson Alumni House on October 29, November 19

Because the university no longer has use of the third floor of the Boathouse for Faculty Pub, the event will run on an abbreviated schedule this fall. Redesigned Electronic Newsletter Debuts August 20

The Office of Communications and Marketing is pleased to present the redesigned Tennessee Today electronic newsletter. The new design provides a better connection to the Tennessee Today news website and the campus calendar. New NSF Award Supports Continued Operations at JICS

The Joint Institute for Computational Sciences, a partnership between UT and ORNL, has received $3 million in new funding from the National Science Foundation to continue to provide advanced computing resources through July 2016.

Communicator and Advocate Honored with Accomplished Alumni Award

Wendell Potter, a veteran journalist, public relations executive, author, and advocate for health care and insurance reform, received an Accomplished Alumni award yesterday. The 1973 journalism graduate was honored by UT with the award. The Accomplished Alumni program recognizes notable alumni.
