Gates open at 1:30 p.m. CBS will televise the game. The SEC Network’s SEC Nation program will broadcast live from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Ayres Hall.

UT’s Center for Sport, Peace, and Society hosted program alumnae and coaches in Mexico recently on a mission to reach and empower more young women through the power of team sports.
“Carry the fight to our opponent and keep it there for sixty minutes” is one of General Robert Neyland’s famous game day maxims, one that fourteen Army ROTC cadets at UT are taking literally. At 7:00 a.m. Friday, September 9, the cadets will embark on a 148-mile journey across East Tennessee, taking turns to run the game day ball to the Pilot Flying J Battle at Bristol in time for the 8:00 p.m. coin toss Saturday, September 10.

The state of Tennessee has a long history of great music and songs—including one of the most recognizable songs in the nation, “Rocky Top.” In UT’s new television half-time spot, Volunteers from across the state sing, hum, and whistle one of our most beloved musical traditions. The new 30-second spot will make its debut on national television Thursday on the SEC Network during UT’s home opening against Appalachian State. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
