Daniel Feller, professor of history, appeared on C-SPAN and the Australian Broadcasting Company’s TV show, Planet America, to discuss President Andrew Jackson.

C-SPAN aired Feller’s presentation, “Andrew Jackson and the Bank War,” that he gave to the White House Historical Association this fall. He focuses on President Andrew Jackson’s bank war of the 1830s—the political struggle to challenge and even cripple the powerful Bank of the United States, which was the young nation’s only national financial institution.

On Planet America, Feller discusses the comparison between Jackson and President Donald Trump (segment beginning at minute 22:30).

Feller is editor of The Papers of Andrew Jackson, a project housed at UT that aims to collect and publish the seventh president’s entire extant literary record.
