Misty AndersonTwo faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences will appear on radio and television this weekend.

A one-hour interview recorded by Misty Anderson, professor of English and adjunct professor of theater and religious studies, will air at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 9, on NewsTalk 98.7 FM. It also will be available by podcast.

Anderson talks about how Charles Dickens transformed Christmas. She also discusses the long history of Christmas, how literature and especially Dickens shaped the way it is celebrated, and the art and songs it has inspired.

Daniel FellerOn Sunday, a presentation by Daniel Feller, professor of history, will air at 8 p.m. Sunday, December 10, on C-SPAN3. Feller gave the presentation, “Andrew Jackson and the Bank War,” to the White House Historical Association in October. He focuses on President Andrew Jackson’s bank war of the 1830s—the political struggle to challenge and even cripple the powerful Bank of the United States, which was the young nation’s only national financial institution.

Feller is editor of The Papers of Andrew Jackson, a project housed at UT that aims to collect and publish the seventh president’s entire extant literary record.
