The Women in Military Service for America Memorial, located next to Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA, celebrated its 20th anniversary this month. The Washington Post reported that Captain Rosemary Bryant Mariner, a UT resident scholar with the Center for the Study of War and Society,  was among those in attendance. Captain Mariner is a retired Navy captain who was one of the first women to earn her wings as a naval aviator in 1974.

The Memorial serves as a database of the women who have served in the U.S. military throughout history.
