UT’s College of Nursing is celebrating another year educating the next generation of nurse leaders and health care professionals with its ninth annual NightinGala.

The fundraiser will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, October 27, at the Knoxville Convention Center. The cost is $150 per person. The event is open to the public. Registration can be completed online by October 20, or by calling Emily Kissel at 865-974-2755.

Alumni, faculty, and friends will enjoy a cocktail hour, auction, food, music, awards presentation, and a special performance by Emily Ann Roberts, runner-up on season 9 of NBC’s The Voice.

WBIR-TV’s Robin Wilhoit will serve as mistress of ceremonies. The evening will include a showcase of health simulation technology, a silent auction, a plated dinner, and an awards ceremony.

The Dr. Sylvia E. Hart Distinguished Alumni Award will be awarded to a graduate who exemplifies excellence through outstanding achievement, creativity, and service to the profession. The Volunteer Nursing Champion Award will recognize an individual who is committed to improving health care and has made significant contributions to the community.

All proceeds will support the college’s efforts to develop and educate the next generation of nurse leaders by providing nursing students with scholarships, state-of-the art technology, and equipment.

Corporate sponsors include East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, National HealthCare Corporation, Pilot Corporation, and the University of Tennessee Medical Center. For information on becoming a corporate sponsor, purchasing a table, or donating auction items, contact Kissel at 865-974-2755.
