World-Class Pianist to Perform at UT on September 21

World-class pianist Hans Boepple will be performing at UT at 8 p.m. Thursday, September 21.

He will present a concert in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall in the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center. This event is free and open to the public.

“We are delighted to be hosting Professor Hans Boepple,” said David Brunell, UT piano professor. “He has developed an enviable reputation as one of the finest piano teachers and performers today.”

Boepple made his debut with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra at age 10. During his career, he has been a guest artist on solo and orchestral concert series across the country. He has performed with the Denver Symphony, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Metropolitan Opera House Orchestra, and the Long Beach Symphony, the Napa Symphony, and the Santa Cruz Symphony in California. One of his live performances has aired on both National Public Radio and Voice of America.

A faculty member at Santa Clara University in California, Boepple is a six-time winner of the Coleman Chamber Music Award and has placed first in the International J.S. Bach Competition.

Boepple holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in piano performance and was honored with a Performer’s Certificate from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, where he studied with renowned pianist Sidney Foster.

His program performance at UT will include Chopin’s Sonata no. 3 in B Minor, and works by Bach, Franck, and Rachmaninoff.
