Several local outlets highlighted a UT aerospace workshop that showed educators fun ways to bring STEM education into the classroom through hands-on activities.

The 13 East Tennessee teachers, from kindergarten through 12th grade, received graduate credit for the course.

The educators flew model planes, dropped eggs from a rooftop and launched rockets at UT as part of the conclusion of the course.

The workshop was funded by the Civil Air Patrol. It is a collaboration between UT College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences; the UT Astronomy Lab, based in the Department of Physics and Astronomy; and the Civil Air Patrol U.S. Air Force Auxiliary.

Outlets that featured the story included The Daily Times, WBIR, and Local 8 WVLT TV.
