UT’s McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture is now offering registration for the 2017–2018 Enhanced Learning Program for K-12 Homeschool Students.

The program offers eight sessions throughout the academic year. These classes last 90 minutes and will cover themes relevant to the museum’s diverse collection. Some of the topics featured this year are: Northwest Coast Art, Bones and Fossils, Archaeology and Native Peoples of Tennessee, Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome and China, and Freshwater Mussels of Tennessee. Enrolled students will tour the galleries and participate in hands-on learning activities at the end of the session.

Interested families should register via Eventbrite. The cost of a class is $5 per student. Reservations are required. Payment must be made in advance, and the fee is nonrefundable. Please note that caregivers will be asked to sign a release form as students will be under the supervision of museum staff.

The McClung Museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive. Museum admission is free, and the museum and store’s hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays.

Free two-hour museum parking passes are available from the parking kiosk at the entrance to Circle Park Drive during the week. Free parking is available on the weekends. Free public transportation to the museum is available via the Knoxville Trolley Vol Line.

See the museum’s website for more information about family programming, parking, and collections and exhibits.
