UT has been rated one of the nation’s “best and most interesting” schools by the Fiske Guide, which rates more than 300 universities in the United States, Canada, and Great Britain.

The 2018 edition of the Fiske Guide to Colleges highlights UT’s business programs, most notably the supply chain management curriculum. Fiske also recognizes UT’s programs in architecture, communication, engineering, nursing, psychology, and social work, while mentioning UT’s sustainability major and leadership studies minor.

UT’s ongoing campus construction projects also are highlighted, with a note that more than $1 billion has been spent in the past three years on new construction, renovations, and landscaping projects. “Streets that once ran through the center of campus have been transformed into landscaped pathways and grassy lawns,” according to the guide.

The guide touts UT’s partnership in managing Oak Ridge National Laboratory—the federal government’s largest multiprogram science and technology lab—as well as its location in the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains and its wide array of academic offerings.

The Fiske Guide is compiled by former New York Times education editor Edward B. Fiske.
