Troy Galyon’s post-graduation plan to travel the 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail garnered media interest from local and national media outlets.

The 22-year-old Maryville native’s journey aimed tor aise awareness and funds for cancer research and treatment. His father, Danny Galyon, was diagnosed with stage four esophageal cancer last fall and is in the middle of chemotherapy treatments.

WVLT, The Chattanoogan, USA Today College, WBIR, and The Daily Times featured Galyon’s story in their publications, broadcast segments, and websites.
