Curbed Highlights Cherry’s Expertise with E-Bikes

Chris Cherry

Curbed magazine recently ran an article on efforts to improve e-bike usage that featured some of the work done by UT associate professor of civil and environmental engineering Chris Cherry.

How e-bikes can help turn drivers into bike commuters” focused on ways that cities are encouraging drivers to use e-bikes instead of gas-powered vehicles.

The article noted Cherry’s body of work in this area, stating that Cherry has found e-bikes to be:

10 to 20 times more energy-efficient than a car. These vehicles can fill in a particular transit niche in denser areas—trips up to 3 to 4 miles—and can help replace journeys spent behind the wheel of a vehicle.
