A recent editorial by the Knoxville News Sentinel highlighted the importance of the transportation industry to the state of Tennessee.

In focusing on how that particular business sector impacts Tennesseans, the editorial cited the Center for Transportation Research, part of the Tickle College of Engineering, and the graduate supply chain management concentration offered by the Haslam College of Business as having two of the 10 biggest impacts.

News Sentinel editor Jack McElroy noted the Center for Transportation Research is “an internationally recognized center of innovation,” while pointing out that the supply chain program is ranked along the same line as the program at Stanford University, but at a far better value.
