UT’s Department of Physics and Astronomy presents the ninth installment of the Saturday Morning Physics lecture series this Saturday, April 22, with Assistant Professor Steven Johnston presenting “Studying Quantum Mechanics with Light and Computers.”

Johnston’s lecture will be held from 10 to 11:15 a.m. with questions and a discussion from 11:15 to noon in 307 Science and Engineering Research Faculty, 1414 Circle Drive.

Johnston will explain the physics underlying quantum materials and talk about the ways researchers probe these materials using light scattering and compare them to computer models.

Limited parking will be available in the 11th Street Garage. Note that fans attending the Orange and White Game also will be parking here. For more information about these lectures or to sign up, visit the Department of Physics and Astronomy website.
