UT’s United Residence Hall Council will host the third annual Fainting Goat 5K and Fun Run at 9 a.m. Saturday, March 25. The event is open to the public.

Professional staff, resident assistants, and various residence hall associations are collaborating to sponsor the race, which celebrates one of the state’s most fascinating and unique animals, the Tennessee fainting goat.

Proceeds from the race will benefit Heifer International, an organization whose mission is to work with communities to end world hunger and poverty and to care for the earth. Some of the proceeds will also benefit the Hopper Family. Jeannie Hopper worked at UT in the housing department for 16 years and is now battling cancer.

Check-in begins at Fred Brown Residence Hall at 7:30 a.m. Late registration begins at 8 a.m. The cost is $20 for UT students and $25 for the public.

Race details can be found here.
