The Washington Post recently featured UT alumna Jennifer Love, the District of Columbia’s first full-time forensic anthropologist.

Love received her doctorate of anthropology from UT. For eight years, she was the director of forensic pathology in Houston, before being hired to oversee DC’s body identification unit in fall 2014.

It is Love’s mission to give families closure for their missing loved ones. The Washington Post‘s story details the two years Love spent tracking down the identity of a deceased woman so that she could bring the woman’s family closure.

Helping reunite family, Love said, even after death, is also part of her mission.
