Air Quality Index
Air Quality Index

The severe drought and destructive wildfires continue to impact air quality on and around campus. The Office of Campus Safety is monitoring the Air Quality Index (AQI) and coordinating with the Tennessee Department of Health in order to communicate accurate AQI information to the campus community.

In the unlikely event that the AQI reaches a level that requires normal campus operations to be suspended, a UT Alert will inform the community. If the air quality level reaches red (unhealthy), university units will be advised to relocate or reschedule ongoing or planned outdoor activities. Campus will remain open unless the situation worsens.

For more information on the campus response to wildfires or air quality, contact the Office of Emergency Management at 974-3061.

Any medical questions should be directed to the Student Health Center.
