Your orange clothing will work double duty this month as campus organizations host several Halloween-themed events. Mark your calendar for these activities and events:

Buggy Buffet, 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, October 27, in Hollingsworth Auditorium in Ellington Plant Sciences. The event, free and open to the public, is hosted by students in the A Bug’s Life FYS 129 course in conjunction with the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology. Tentative menu crackers topped with crème cheese and a variety of insects, ants-on-a-log (celery with pimento cheese topped with ants), special K-ricket casserole, chocolate chirp cookies, assorted chocolate covered insects, and more. A silent auction will be held, and insect-themed items will be available to purchase.

Fright Night: The Final Chapter, 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. Thursday and Friday, October 27 and 28, in the basement of halloweenvolupdate-v0-2Reese Hall. The haunted house, sponsored by the United Residence Hall Council and the Reese Hall Resident Hall Association, is back for the last time before Reese Hall closes its doors to students. Cost is $3 a person or $5 a couple, cash only. All proceeds benefit the Habitat for Humanity. For more info, call 974-2562.

Pumpkin Drop, 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 28, McClung Plaza beside Humanities and Social Sciences Building. The event will feature live music, food, activities hosted by student organizations, and a costume contest that will offer prizes to winners. The final event will be the dropping of the pumpkins that have been frozen in liquid nitrogen. The event is hosted by UT’s Society of Physics Students.

International House Halloween Dance Party, 10 p.m. Friday, October 28, at the International House. For more info, call 974-4453.

Rocky Horror Picture Show, 11:30 p.m. Saturday, October 29, in HPER. Grab your friends and enjoy this free showing of the interactive classic film with a live shadow cast performance. Shadow casts are fans who act out the entire movie below or in front of the movie screen. For more info, call 974-5455.

Third Annual Halloween Extravaganza hosted by the UT baseball team at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 30, in Lindsey Nelson Stadium. Full-costume team open practice and scrimmage followed by trick-or-treating with the Vols through the steadium. Free admission.

Vol Night Long Vol-O-Weentown, 9 p.m. to midnight Friday, October 21, in HPER. The event features a haunted house, a screening of the film Halloweentown, a costume contest, free Vol Night Long T-shirts, outdoor games, and free food.

Howl-O-Ween, 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, October 23, at UT Gardens. The Howl-O-Ween Pooch Parade and Pet Expo caters to dogs and dog lovers. This fun event with a spooky twist will include a judged costume parade with prizes and an expo of educational booths, pet businesses, and rescue groups. Food trucks will be on hand for people wanting to purchase food. The event is free to attend but there is a fee to participate in the parade.
