The 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is now open. Students interested in receiving federal and state aid, including the Hope Scholarship, for the 2017–18 academic year must complete the FAFSA. Submitting your application now ensures that you meet UT’s February 15 priority filing deadline.
In addition to an earlier submission date, the 2017–18 FAFSA will use student- and parent-reported income and tax information from 2015, not 2016. This should allow students and their parents to use the IRS data retrieval tool, which connects directly with the IRS and pulls in previous tax information. There is no need to estimate and go back later.
Avoid processing delays by filling out your 2017–18 FAFSA now. As a reminder, students must complete a FAFSA annually for each year they plan to be enrolled.
