Dear Campus Community:

In times of loss we are called as a campus community to support each other. As the recent letter from SGA so aptly stated, you are valued and you matter. As the director of the Student Counseling Center, I think it is important that you know the University of Tennessee and the staff of the Student Counseling Center are committed to your health and well-being and we are here to help. We are keenly aware of the many stresses and difficulties that students encounter as they move through their educational journey. Sometimes these struggles can feel overwhelming. Please know that you are not alone. If you are feeling overwhelmed, I ask you to reach out to a friend or a trusted family member. If you know of someone who is struggling, reach out and let that person know you care. Often the best support comes from those we already know and trust.

However, there are also times when that is not enough. If you need extra support, know that counseling and support services are available to all students of the Volunteer community. Students can reach the Student Counseling Center by calling 865-974-2196 or dropping in between 10:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. daily. We are located in the Student Health Building across from the Rock. If you are concerned for the well-being of a fellow Vol and don’t know how to best help, call 865-974-HELP (4357) to reach the Center for Health Education and Wellness for assistance.

Remember that Vols help Vols. Let us know if we can help you.
