McClung Museum to Host History and Rhythm Family Fun Day

A Family Fun Day celebrating history, rhythm, and hip-hop will be held 1:00–4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, at the McClung Museum.

The museum has partnered with Cypher Knoxville, a hip-hop group that focuses on bringing communities together to network and build, to host a program in which dancers, poets, and hip-hop enthusiasts will create connections between the museum’s collections and their artistic abilities.

Attendees will learn how to write verse, add a beat, make graffiti artwork, and break dance, and will view a performance by Cypher Knoxville.

The event is free and open to the public. All materials will be provided, and reservations are not necessary.

The McClung Museum is at 1327 Circle Park Drive. Museum admission is free, and the museum’s hours are 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday to Saturday and 1:00–5:00 p.m. Sundays. Free two-hour museum parking passes are available from the parking kiosk at the entrance to Circle Park Drive during the week. Free parking is available on the weekends. Free public transportation to the museum is available via the Knoxville Trolley Vol Line.

See the museum’s website for more information about family programming, parking, and collections and exhibits.
