Donate Goods on Campus for Louisiana Flood Relief

Our SEC neighbors in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, are experiencing widespread devastation from flooding after record-setting rainfall. As Volunteers, we believe wholeheartedly in our responsibility and commitment to helping those in need.

floodrelief v0.3To assist, the campus-wide disaster relief team is encouraging the campus community to participate in relief efforts in several ways:

Volunteer to help receive and process material donations. UT students, faculty and staff are needed from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Students, sign up here to help. Faculty and staff, sign up here to help. If all opportunities are full, please e-mail leadserve@utk.edu to be added to a contact list should our collection efforts continue.

Contribute through VOLstarter. All funds contributed to this account will be directed to Louisiana Disaster Relief efforts coordinated through the Red Cross.  This link will be live for one month. DONATE NOW

Donate nonperishable items online. Donate nonperishable items directly to the LSU Food Pantry via their Amazon Wish List account.

Donate approved items through a local drop-off. Donate items and supplies to be trucked to Baton Rouge through partnerships with community members. Items accepted include new or slightly used furniture, bedding and blankets; school supplies; bottled water; nonperishable food items; toiletries; adult diapers; laundry detergent; tarps; buckets, mops, cleaning supplies; Shockwave (to kill mold); bug spray; and plastic storage boxes/containers. Drop-off locations and hours of operation are:

  • Regions Bank Bearden Headquarters at 151 Major Reynolds Place from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily through Friday.
  • On campus at 2233 Volunteer Boulevard from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. daily through Friday. This location is behind Fleet Management, near the Alan Jones Aquatic  Center.
