Ardlan Khalili, a computer science major at UT, spent the summer working on high altitude spacecraft software, which comes as no surprise, given his major.

What makes it a little unique was that the summer work took place in North Dakota, not exactly the first site people think of when it comes to space travel.

Khalili talked to the Knoxville Daily Sun about the experience recently, detailing various aspects of the work he did on software systems related to certain vessels.

“It was not what I expected,” Khalili told the paper. “I learned about the integration of software and hardware – about its fabrication, development and CAD software.”
