Students in an advanced undergraduate poetry class this spring wrote poems in tribute to Zaevion Dobson, a fifteen-year-old local high school student who died while shielding three young girls from gunfire in December. They compiled them into a memorial packet and mailed them to Dobson’s mother, Zenobia Dobson, last week.

Local media outlets highlighted the students’ work in several stories. Read them or watch them online in the Knoxville News Sentinel, WATE-TV Channel 6, WVLT-TV Local 8 Now, and WBIR-TV Channel 10.
