The Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology Graduate Student Association is hosting Science Day on from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, in Hollingsworth Auditorium on the agriculture campus. Science Day’s aim is for students to come together and share knowledge, research, and experiences from different disciplines across campus.
The event’s keynote speaker is Becky Trout Fryxell who will present “Updates on Zika virus: What we knew and what we may know now.”
Science Day will spotlight research at the university and better acquaint students with other organizations and departments. Science Day will be a student-driven, informal event that will enable participants to acquire knowledge, hone interpersonal skills, bolster self-confidence, and gain leadership experience.
Students will give three-minute talks, followed by an interactive poster session, free pizza and drinks, and cultural activities. Door prizes will also be awarded.
Graduate and undergraduate students from across disciplines are encouraged to participate.
Oral presentations can be three minutes with one slide. Poster presentations should be 48″ x 48″ or smaller. The deadline to submit an entry is 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 20.
