A committee has been formed and recruiting has commenced for the national search to replace Provost and Senior Vice Chancellor Susan Martin, who has announced her intention to return to the faculty on July 1.

Vince Carilli, vice chancellor for student life, is chairing the committee. The following members have agreed to serve:

  • Mark Dean, John Fisher Distinguished Professor of Engineering
  • Hillary Fouts, associate professor of child and family studies and co-chair of the Commission for Women
  • John Keny, law student and president of the Graduate Student Senate
  • Stephen Mangum, dean of the Haslam College of Business
  • Janet Nelson, associate vice chancellor for research and engagement
  • Victoria Niederhauser, dean of the College of Nursing
  • Bonnie Ownley, professor of plant pathology and president-elect of the Faculty Senate
  • Anton Reece, executive director of the Student Success Center
  • Jay Rubenstein, professor of history
  • Hanno Weitering, department head and professor of physics and astronomy
  • John Zomchick, vice provost for faculty affairs

The campus community will receive periodic notifications from Vice Chancellor Carilli throughout the semester and into the summer.
