College of Architecture and Design Hosts Open House April 2

UT’s College of Architecture and Design’s open house for prospective undergraduate and graduate students is set for Saturday, April 2, in the Art and Architecture Building, 1715 Volunteer Boulevard.

University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Art and Architecture BuildingHigh school students should register to attend Session 1, 11:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m. A second session from 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. is available for college students considering graduate school.

The event will give attendees the opportunity to learn about the college’s programs in architecture, landscape architecture, and interior design. Prospective students and their families will attend program overviews, meet current students and faculty, enjoy a free barbeque lunch, and tour the award-winning Art and Architecture building as well as the Fab Lab.

“We look forward to welcoming high school students and potential graduate students who are considering exploring a design education,” said Julie Beckman, director of the college’s Center for Student Development. “A degree in design opens doors to a variety of careers using the skills of problem solving, design thinking, and process analysis. Our graduates make a difference in society and impact the built environment.”
