The New York Times recently published an article exploring why people love animal videos so much and often click on them in their social media feeds. The article referred to a 2013 Science Times piece about animal relationships that referenced the work of Gordon Burghardt.
“There’s no question that studying these relationships can give you some insight into the factors that go into normal relationships,” he said.
Burghardt, a UT Alumni Distinguished Service Professor, is an expert on animal play. He holds appointments in the Departments of Psychology and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
