Campus Master Plan Discussion Scheduled for December 14

A public meeting will be held next week to discuss proposed updates to the UT campus master plan.

The meeting, set for 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, at the Visitors Center, 2712 Neyland Drive, will give the public the campus and larger community to hear the latest on the plan from Associate Vice Chancellor for Facilities Services Dave Irvin and to provide feedback.

Updates to the plan have been made in cooperation with Bullock Smith & Partners, the firm that assisted in creating the 2011 version of the plan.

Some notable updates include expanding the campus boundary along Concord Street on the west side of campus, a renewed focus on renovation projects, greater attention to outdoor spaces and corridors, and an analysis of existing building conditions with the goal of better utilizing space.

The developers of the document also incorporated master plans for the Hill, university housing, and a current study being conducted by UT RecSports.

The campus master plan is revised every five years to keep it current. More information is available on the master plan website, masterplan.utk.edu.
