The second annual Arab Fest will be held October 22-24 and aims to bring Arab traditions to the UT and local community. The event will include speaker Jack Shaheen who will discuss the portrayal of Arabs and Muslims in American media. He helps people see that their opinions of Arabs are strongly colored by what they see on TV and in movies, said Erin Darby, a UT assistant professor of religious studies and a member of the planning committee for Arab Fest.
