Since the beginning of the year, Fleet Management has been initiating new practices and products to increase effectiveness and benefit departments using their services. Here is an overview of upcoming changes:

  • Starting November 30, the office and service center will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If valet service is required, please request pickups before 4:45 p.m. New hardware will provide 24/7 access to the fuel island.
  • Current UT vehicle fuel cards (Voyager, FleetOne, and Rogers) are being consolidated and replaced with a new single fuel card provided by Wex. This card will still be tied to individual vehicles, but with a new six-digit PIN—the UT personnel number of the individual fueling the vehicle. An early December release date is expected for the new fuel cards.
  • New roadside assistance packets will be placed in vehicle glove boxes. Currently, drivers contact roadside assistance through the vehicle manufacturer. This new offering from Automotive Resources International will be more convenient and helpful, with assistance ranging from lockout services to emergency rental vehicles. Further information will be supplied with the packets when they arrive.
  • Finally, beginning in the first quarter of 2016, a new software system will replace the very dated software currently in use. Many changes will be taking place with this new system, including a new receipt delivery process and an online portal for vehicle reservations. This software represents a capstone to several positive decisions and changes that should increase the value of Fleet Management to Knoxville campus departments, to Chattanooga and Tullahoma, and to individuals across the state.
