March marks Women’s History Month, and several groups on campus are hosting events. Celebrate the contributions made by UT’s female students, staff, and faculty by participating in one or all of the events. See the full schedule of events here.

Want to contribute your design skills to WomEngineers Day? The  conference is holding a T-shirt design contest. The top three designs have a chance to be selected as the official T-shirt of the event. The design winner will receive two Neyland Stadium box seat tickets to a 2015 football game. Submissions and voting are open through March 11.


Get Ready for Spring Break

Spring break is right around the corner, and whether you are taking a trip or just spending some relaxing time at home, you deserve a break! If you plan to travel, take a look at some important tips to help you be safe and return to campus recharged and ready for the rest of the semester here.

Get Moving during Walk with a Vol, the Fainting Goat 5K and Fun Run, and the Big Orange Adventure

Warmer weather is making its way in to Knoxville this month. Enjoy the outdoors with these three upcoming events:

Get active with your fellow Vols during this thirty-minute walk around campus.  Water and snacks will be provided, and two Fitbit Ultra pedometers will be given away. The Walk with a Vol event begins at noon this Friday at Thompson-Boling Arena Gate D.

Get your running shoes out of your closet and head to the Fainting Goat 5K and Fun Run at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, in Circle Park. Registration is $20 and proceeds from the race will benefit Heifer International.

The Big Orange Adventure will have you racing to complete challenges and solve puzzles all over campus. Registration is $15 and proceeds benefit UT’s McClung Museum. The race begins at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 7, at the Humanities Amphitheater.

See a Concert on Campus during Battle of the Bands

The Campus Entertainment Board is hosting Battle of the Bands from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. this Thursday in the UC Auditorium. The competition gives local singers and bands a chance to win an opening performance set at Volapalooza. Come out to hear the live music and cast your vote!

Become Social Savvy during Social Media Week

Stop by the College of Communication and Information’s annual Social Media Week to hear from various speakers on topics surrounding social media. The week of events begins on Monday, March 30.
