Commercial AppealA study from UT’s Center for Business and Economic Research says Governor Bill Haslam’s Insure Tennessee plan, which would expand Medicaid in Tennessee, would bring more than a billion dollars of new spending to the state. “The immediate purpose of Insure Tennessee is to provide health insurance to Tennesseans,” the study says. “At the same time, the injection of additional federal dollars will yield significant spillover benefits to the state economy.”

Center director Bill Fox and associate director Matt Murray spoke with several media outlets about the study, including the Memphis Commercial Appeal (subscription required), WBIR-TV, the Associated Press, and the Nashville Business Journal.
