The Knoxville News Sentinel featured Chancellor Jimmy G. Cheek’s visit with President Barack Obama to discuss higher education access. The visit was the second meeting for Cheek in 2014. It took place during the second College Opportunity Day of Action summit. During the event, Cheek announced the university is expanding a couple of initiatives that are among the focus areas pushed by the White House.
