OIT to Offer Microsoft Lync Instant Messaging Service

Starting today, UT’s Office of Information Technology will make the Microsoft Lync instant messaging client available to students, faculty, and staff.

Lync offers productivity tools for group collaboration including instant messaging, Lync-to-Lync voice calls, and video conferencing.

You can access Lync from either a desktop or a mobile device. The desktop program for Windows and Mac is available from both the OIT software download site and the Office 365 software manager. The mobile device program is available from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and the Windows Store.

For all faculty and staff users, your username will be netid@utk.edu. For students, it will be netid@vols.utk.edu.
