utpdThe UT Police Department will host its annual UTPD Memorial Golf Tournament at the Three Ridges Golf Course at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 16. The event raises money to help the children of current and retired police department employees attend the university.

UTPD has held the tournament since 2007 to fund the UTPD Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship was established in honor of UTPD Officer Ben Bohanan after he was tragically killed on his way home from work. Since the inception of this fund, the name has been amended to recognize other officers who have passed away. Scholarships are awarded annually to assist UTPD dependents in purchasing books and other items needed to attend UT.

The tournament is a four-person team event. The cost is $100 per person, $400 per team. The cost covers team members’ greens fees with cart, and includes a hospitality bag, golf shirt, and a catered dinner upon completion.

Additionally, sponsorship opportunities are available for hole sponsors for $250, and cart sponsors for $100 per business or $25 per individual.

For more information about the event, visit the department’s website or contact Deputy Chief Jeff Severs at 865-974-3111 or jsevers@utk.edu.
