UT is renewing its commitment to Project GRAD (Graduation Really Achieves Dreams) and will provide $150,000 each year for the next five years for the Project GRAD Summer Institute. Representatives from UT, Project GRAD, and the Great Schools Partnership announced the continued funding for the partnership today. This year will be the Summer Institute’s thirteenth year at the university.

Avery Dobbs, a senior majoring in political science with a history minor, has received a 2014–2015 Fulbright International Scholarship to teach English in Bulgaria.
A business that simplifies wedding registries for couples is the winner of this semester’s Vol Court pitch competition. Dave Seeman, senior in mechanical engineering and founder of Willow List, an innovative gift registry that uses crowd sourcing to fund gifts, won first place and received $1,000 to move his business forward.
UT professor emeritus and celebrated scenic designer Bob Cothran will be awarded the Clarence Brown Theatre Society Artistic Achievement Award at this year’s Clarence Brown Theatre Gala on Sunday, June 8. Tickets are now on sale for the 6:30 p.m. gala, which will be downtown at the Standard Knoxville, 416 West Jackson Avenue.
