UT’s McClung Museum of Natural History and Culture will host a free stroller tour on Monday, April 14. The 10:00–11:00 a.m. event will be focused on the temporary exhibit Brightly Beaded: North American Indian Glass Beadwork.
Parents and caregivers with babies through four-year-olds are invited to meet in the museum’s lobby before taking a tour of the exhibit. The tour will include hands-on components and activities for the young children and their caregivers related to Native American beadwork.
The event is part of a monthly series of free stroller tours that allow parents and caregivers to interact with one another and museum staff without the worry of disrupting other visitors.
The program is free and open to the public, but reservations are necessary and are first come, first serve. Online registration is preferred, and is available online. Participants also may call the museum at 865-974-2144 to make a reservation.
Next month’s tour date is May 19 and will focus on dinosaurs and fossils. Registration for stroller tours opens one month before the tour.
The McClung Museum is located at 1327 Circle Park Drive. It is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sundays. Admission is free.
On weekdays, free two-hour museum parking passes for Circle Park Drive are available from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. from the Parking Information Center kiosk at the entrance to Circle Park Drive, located just north of the museum. Additional parking information is available online.
