Vice Chancellor for Diversity Rickey Hall announced this week staffing plans for the Office of Equity and Diversity. Over the next year, the office will operate under an interim-staffing plan. Effective immediately, Jenny Richter will become the interim director. A search will be conducted for a twelve-month limited duration appointment interim assistant director. The position will be posted in the near future. Faculty and staff are asked to encourage talented and qualified internal and external candidates to apply.
The interim-staffing plan will allow the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Diversity to conduct a planned external review of OED in fall 2014. Information learned through the review process will inform the future direction of the office, including roles and responsibilities of the staff. Regular positions will be filled through search processes that will be launched in spring 2015.
