Federico, a 1976 sociology graduate, was honored with the award earlier this month. The Accomplished Alumni program recognizes notable alumni.

Federico joined P. F. Chang’s China Bistro Inc. in 1996. As chairman and CEO of the Asian-themed restaurant chain, he is responsible for the strategic growth and development of P. F. Chang’s China Bistro and the company’s casual quick dining concept, Pei Wei Asian Diner. He also is a founding director of Chances for Children and is active in Banner Alzheimer’s Institute.

Federico began his career in the restaurant industry as a manager at several chain restaurants. He went on to develop and co-found Grady’s Goodtimes, serving as vice president of operations until Brinker International acquired Grady’s in 1989.

Upon joining Brinker International, Federico served as senior vice president and concept head for Macaroni Grill before being promoted to president of the Italian Concept Division, where he directed operations and development.

Federico was presented the award at a dinner with the College of Arts and Science Advisory Board.

Federico joins a variety of outstanding alumni who have been featured through the Accomplished Alumni program, including CEOs of major corporations, Olympians, authors, lawyers, musicians, US ambassadors, and civic leaders.
