UT’s online Master of Science in Social Work is one of the nation’s top accredited online programs when it comes to value and affordability, according to newly released rankings from the GetEducated consumer organization.

UT’s program is ranked second among public schools’ Master of Social Work programs on the organization’s 2013 “Best Buy Online Master’s in Psychology and Human Services” listing. The report showcases some of the nation’s best online master’s degree programs in psychology and related areas such as social work, counseling, and human services.

GetEducated is a free consumer guide to online colleges and programs. It compiled its “Best Buy” report based on a national survey and by comparing tuition and education fees of seventy-one online master’s degree programs in psychology, counseling, social work, human services, and the social sciences in public and private schools around the country.

UT’s program ranked second among public schools and eighteenth overall.

UT’s Master of Science in Social Work has 150 online students. It was launched in 2008 and offers both clinical and macro concentrations online. It also offers graduate certificate programs in trauma, gerontology, veterinary social work, and school social work.

About 1.5 million students visit GetEducated.com annually looking for advice on which of 3,800 online degree programs can best meet their needs.
