As of this morning, power has not yet been restored to the North Carrick residence hall. Electricians from Facilities Services conducted tests last night and early this morning to measure the operational condition of the electrical infrastructure. Tests are ongoing, and if all results remain positive, work will begin as soon as possible, with the possibility that power will be restored late this afternoon or early this evening.

The residence hall was closed at 8:30 p.m. last night but remained staffed at the front desk. Students returning to the building after 8:30 p.m. were escorted to their rooms to collect any necessary belongings. University Housing offered overnight accommodations for the 436 male students who live in North Carrick, though only sixteen students took advantage of these arrangements. Most students opted to stay with friends in the area.

The building remains open during the day. A small portion of the South Carrick residence hall is also affected by the outage. Twenty-two four-person suites were impacted.
