Second Associate Provost Candidate to Lead Forum Thursday

 

The second of four finalists in the search for the associate provost and director of the Chancellor’s Honors and Haslam Scholars programs will visit campus Thursday and lead a forum for the campus community.

Rhonda Phillips, associate dean of Barrett, The Honors College at Arizona State University, will lead the forum from 2:15 to 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 24, in the Crest Room of the University Center.

Phillips has been associate dean of The Honors College since 2011. She’s been a professor at Arizona State University since 2007.

Prior to that, she was an associate professor at the University of Florida from 2003 to 2007. She was assistant professor there from 1998 to 2003. Phillips has a doctorate in city and regional planning and a Master of Science in economics from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Master of Science in economic development and Bachelor of Science in geography from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Each forum will be videotaped and archived for later viewing online. The campus community is encouraged to attend and provide their thoughts about the candidates here.

John Zomchick, vice provost for faculty affairs, is chairing the search. The position has been vacant since June, when Steve Dandaneau left to become the vice provost of undergraduate studies at Kansas State University. W. Bruce Wheeler, professor emeritus of history, has been serving as the interim associate provost.
