Twenty-six high school girls arrived on UT’s campus with an idea of what engineering was. After four hours of exploring labs, asking questions to a panel of UT engineering students, and taking part in hands-on engineering challenges, the group had a new perspective. The girls were taking part in a program called “Tomorrow’s Engineers Today,” organized by the Center for Ultra-wide-area Resilient Electric Energy Transmission Networks (CURENT) along with the campus’s chapter of Society of Women Engineers and TN-SCORE.
