The presidential election is right around the corner. Are you registered to vote? Any students—in-state or out-of-state—who will be 18 or older on November 6 can register to vote in Knox County.

Voter Registration Forms can be downloaded from the Knox County Election Commission website. Voter Registration Forms must be received by the Knox County Elections Commission Office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Monday, October 8.

Early Voting

Students registered to vote in Knox County can vote at any Knox County Early Voting Site, with a photo identification card issued by a state or federal government. A UT ID does not meet this requirement.

On-campus early voting will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. October 29-November 1 in University Center Room 227.

At most Knox County sites, early voting begins Wednesday, October 17, and ends Thursday, November 1. Early voting locations and can be found at the Knox County Election Commission website.

Election Day

On Election Day, November 6, only students registered to vote and living in Precincts 10-S and 10-W may vote in the University Center Ballroom. Voting will take place between 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. These precincts encompass campus south of Cumberland Avenue.

Students living in Precinct 10-N, north of Cumberland Avenue, must vote at Fort Sanders Elementary School, 501 S. 21st Street.

Other Knox County registered voters must vote in their precinct. Polling sites can be found by on the Knox County Elections Commission website.
